William G. Ledeboer, born September 30, 1844, enlisted in the 25^th Michigan Infantry, Co I, on August 14, 1862, for three years. He became ill with dysentery and measles and died at Bowling Green, Kentucky on May 11, 1863, at the age of 18 years. His body was sent home to Holland, Michigan and buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. His gravestone reads:

After the war William’s sister married Dirk B. K. Van Raalte.
