Coopersville Observer, August 1913

Lamont—Frederick Oelker, age 84 years, 6 months, died at his home here last Monday. Deceased was a Civil War veteran and had been a resident of this vicinity for the past fifteen years. He leaves a wife and one son, Herman Oelker, of this place. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church last Friday, Rev. Moore, of Coopersville, officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery.

(Frederick Oelker served in Co. G, 1^st U. S. Artillery and applied for his Civil War pension from Illinois. Amelia Oelker applied for pension in September 1913 from Michigan.)
