Holland City News, February 6, 1892

During the week two veterans of the late war have answered to their last roll call- George B. Gillett on the Lake Shore, and H. Kaslander in Drenthe. The latter was a member of the 6^th Michigan Cavalry, and Mr. Gillett of the 9^th Michigan Infantry.

(George B. Gillett enlisted in the 9^th Michigan Infantry, Company G, on February 15, 1865, in Grand Rapids, for 1 year, age 38. He was mustered out on September 15, 1865. He is buried in Lakeside Cemetery.)
